UNREPENTANT: KEVIN ANNETT AND CANADA’S GENOCIDE (documentary)
This documentary reveals Canada’s darkest secret – the deliberate extermination of indigenous (Native American) peoples and the theft of their land under the guise of religion. This never before told history as seen through the eyes of this former minister (Kevin Annett) who blew the whistle on his own church, after he learned of thousands of murders in its Indian Residential Schools…”

To me it is just like the ugly nature of our government to not speak up about this.

Michael Ruppert is the author of Crossing The Rubicon: The Decline of the American Empire at the End of the Age of Oil. Published in September 2004 and is one of the three best-selling books globally and in the US about the attacks of 9/11. Rubicon is the only book to show that Vice President Richard Cheney, the US government and Wall Street had a well-developed awareness of Peak Oil before the 9/11 attacks and that US policy since then has been consistent with Peak Oil imperatives. In May, 2006Crossing the Rubicon was added to the Harvard School of Business library and released in a French version with distribution throughout all major book stores in France.
Mike is also the publisher/editor of From The Wilderness, a newsletter read in more than 50 countries around the world. Its subscribers include 60-plus members of the US congress, professors at more than 40 universities around the world, and major business and economic leaders. Since 9/11 Mike has been in demand as a university lecturer and has spoken on Peak Oil and 9/11 in nine countries. Recently, at the request of Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney, he served as an official questioner during a Congressional briefing looking into unanswered questions and the unaddressed flaws of the Keane Commission report. Having concluded that the US government and markets will be useless in preparing American citizens for the coming crisis, Mike’s current focus is on individual and community preparedness for the coming challenges and the development of a reliable news service to quickly identify and track breaking developments around the world.
Mike is a former LAPD narcotics investigator, whistleblower and a 1973 Honors Graduate of UCLA in Political Science. After attempting to expose this he was forced out of LAPD in 1978 while earning the highest rating reports possible and having no pending disciplinary actions. In 1996, after 18 years of struggle, he finally achieved one of his deepest wishes in a face to face public encounter with then CIA Director John Deutch on national television. Washington sources later told Mike that Deutch’s mishandling of the encounter cost him a guaranteed appointment as Secretary of Defense.
On November 28, 2001 Mike gave his first post 9-11 lecture at Portland State University, which was attended by more than 1,000 and resulted in a standing ovation.
“FROM THE WILDERNESS” his latest book in comprised of stories, including economic and military analysis, detailed exposés of the CIA and the American political and economic system, have been reprinted all over the world. A popular lecturer who has spoken in eight countries, Mike is beginning a new direction in 2005 focusing on breaking news in a world that is moving steadily toward global warfare, the draft and economic collapse. Mike’s future plans include relocating to semi-rural areas of the Pacific Northwest to begin a detailed study of post-petroleum living strategies with a view towards saving as many lives as possible after 2007.

This speech of privacy expert Steven Rambam gives deep insight into the possibilities of privacy invasion through tools that are freely available on the internet. He gives examples of myspace, facebook, blogs, etc. and also shows how companies like Google or even Domino’s Pizza are using data-mining to get a profile of their customers. One of my favorite quotes is, when he talks about the possibilities that mobile phones offer for data collection:

Students and advocates reveal Toronto School Board failure, launch documentary
Toronto — 300 students, parents, teachers, staff and advocates gathered at a local high school on Universal Children’s Day to support non-status students still shut out of Toronto schools. Communities present insisted that the board remove questions on immigration status from admissions forms, adequately train staff and teachers, disseminate its policies in immigrant communities and lobby Ontario to ensure that no undocumented student is barred from schools anywhere in the province in accordance with the Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell, Sanctuary School policy passed in 2006.
A 22-minute documentary, Education Not Deportation, was also launched and is now freely available.
The TDSB policy was passed in accordance with the Education Act of Ontario that stipulates access for all students, irrespective of Immigration status to schools.
“The policy says that schools should not and cannot ask for immigration status from students and if they should come across this information, it should not be given to federal immigration officials” explains Zahra Murad, an organizer with the Education Not Deportation Campaign.
Two years later, the policy is yet to be fully implemented.
“This is a crisis” insists Javier Davila, a Parkdale teacher featured in the documentary. “By not following the Education Act, TDSB is failing its students.”
The TDSB promised to change registration forms and train all teachers and staff on the policy.
“When you walk into the admissions office, they ask you all these questions. I felt that my status would be exposed and that I would be kicked out of the country” recalls Matthew Nguyen, who lived without status in Toronto. Matthew is one of the students appearing in the short film.
“Very few parents will come to schools, particularly if there are signs up that say the opposite of what the policy actually is” Pam Dogra, an elementary school teachers adds in the video. “Sometimes you’ll walk into a school and the regular checklist is, ‘Can I see your immigration papers?’ ‘Do you have a passport?’ So parents, I think, are very fearful to come in, and word spreads very fast in the community”
In the absence of public education in schools and migrant communities to ensure access not fear for undocumented people, the TDSB is missing out on becoming the model for schools across the country.
“Creating safe spaces for students is about more than just admission. You walk out of the classroom and you are scared. You are not just thinking about your marks. You think if you speak up, someone may report you” adds Renee Nadeau, a student who attended the event.
“You need more than a policy to create change. The entire community needs to be involved. We are all architects for the community we want to build”, she continues. “People need to get in to schools, and universities, and shelters, and hospitals. People need status.”

The veil on our nation’s food industry is lifted, exposing the highly mechanized underbelly that’s been hidden from the American consumer with the consent of our government’s regulatory agencies, USDA and FDA. Our nation’s food supply is now controlled by a handful of corporations that often put profit ahead of consumer health, the livelihood of the American farmer, the safety of workers and our own environment. We have bigger-breasted chickens, the perfect pork chop, insecticide-resistant soybean seeds, even tomatoes that won’t go bad, but we also have new strains of e coli–the harmful bacteria that causes illness for an estimated 73,000 Americans annually…Americans, not USA, but Americans…NORTH AMERICANS AS WELL!!

In 2001, four Pakistani Britons, Ruhal Ahmed, Asif Iqbal and Shafiq Rasul and another friend, Monir, travel to Pakistan for a wedding and in a urge of idealism, decide to see the situation of war torn Afganistan which is being bombed by the American forces in retaliation for the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Once there, with the loss of Monir in the wartime chaos, they are captured by Northern Alliance fighters. They are then handed them over the American forces who transport them to the prison camps at the Guantanamo Bay base in Cuba. What follows is three years of relentless imprisonment, interrogations and torture to make them submit to blatantly wrong confessions to being terrorists. In the midst of this abuse, the three struggle to keep their spirits up in that face of this grave injustice

ARNOLD ITWARU EXPLAINS: I have been a visual artist for over 30 years. My work touches upon moments of solitary reflection, and converges with my Guyanese-Caribbean origins and my experience of the Canadian landscape and place over the years. Although my work transcends genres my medium remains the traditional oil on canvas. Art for me is a celebration of the intensities of life-affirming beauty. I try to do this with each painting of mine.
